Good question!
Great for researching an area, this app will give you the answer to this burning question, either on an interactive Google map or in a listing.
The Nearby button will list all nearby waterfalls in the selected database sorted in order or nearest-to-farthest. Listing includes the waterfall name, distance away, height, waterfall rating (when available), and round trip hike distance. Select as many waterfalls as desired and then MAP IT! to see where they are located. From MAP IT! you can see either navigate to it or obtain additional information on the waterfall from www.waterfall-picture-guide.com. Additional information includes photos, hike information, and tips on getting the best possible photo.
Additional features include sorting and filtering functions.
From the main menu you can also select Live Map to see all waterfalls in the current database and either navigate to the waterfall or click through the link provided for additional information.
Lastly, there is a search function that returns waterfalls that match the provided input based on the waterfall name. For instance, search on "Laurel" will return all waterfalls with laurel in the name.
Currently the database includes waterfalls in the great states of Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, Vermont, and Alabama. However, future updates will include other states such as Oregon, Washington, Colorado, New Hampshire, and Maine.
